Hello,

Isn't it possible to extend SPDisplayRelatedInfo function to allow the user to edit the shown related values?

That means, besides to displaying the related information, giving the possiblity to edit thses inforamtion if the user wants to update them from the current page and not by going back to the original list edit form.

Thank you.

It's a nice idea, but obviously more complex. SharePoint's forms only allow editing data in one list at a time and what you are suggesting is more of a 'from within a form' idea.  I've been thining about how to use a model window to allow editing, much like SharePoint 2010 does, but I haven't implemented anything yet.

Right now, what you could do is to add some jquery to the completefunc which adds links to edit the items.  They would have to be links to the other list's form, though, much like I do with SPLookupAddNew today.
