Issue with SPRequireUnique

Marc, when I try to enter a duplicate value, the OK button gets greyed out, as designed. When I then change the text in the text box to a unique entry, the OK button stays greyed out, but now is activated. That is, clicking the greyed out OK button allows me to save the new, unique item, albeit after a short pause. Is this the expected behavior? It seems to me it would confuse a user since the OK button is still greyed out.

The OK button ought to be reactivated once the value is unque, but that occurs only once you move the cursor out of the input element (the blur event). If that's not what you're seeing, then post more details and we'll get to the bottom of it.

Does this work for WSS 3.0 and sharepoint designer 2007?

Absolutely. If you look at the docs, for each function I have a couple of icons which show which SharePoint versions are supported.
