I'm not really using SPLookupAddNew but i do the same thing. I use custom link to pop-up a new window and add a new value in the target list.

Then, i refresh with jQuery & SPServices/GetListItems the lookup. The refresh is good, but there is a problem, SharePoint throw an exception when submitting to server. He does'nt allow my NewForm with the new entry in the Lookup.

This bug do not happened when i only Edit with the EditForm.

I'm sure people tried to use some asynchronous method to refresh the Lookup when using SPLookupAddNew, that's why i asking you :)

Do someone resolve this bug? Thanks !

PS : Sorry for my english ;)

EDIT : When you Use EditPage in a NewForm, the page is Refresh with a postback. THen if i submit, there is no exception. Insert is OK.
There is any way to generate a PostBack with core.js? or anything else?

Problem solved.

Answer :

I use core.js to do a postback. I call __doPostBack() function. The page is refresh, but the user do not have to refill all fields. ;)
