I have done some work with cascading lookups in the past few weeks. A technique I used was to work with the optHid property, which is also used in a couple blog posts (

I was surprised not to find it in SPServices. Is ther a reason for that?

Actually, I do use the optHid attribute to help me navigate the DOM in my new SPComplexToSimpleDropdown function.

I do have a couple of edge case bugs in SPCascadeDropdowns which I need to track down, and looking at the optHid input element may help me resolve at least one of them.

ok. I was looking at v 0.6.1, that's why. Now I can see it in 0.6.2 alpha!

I used the optHid element last night (hopefully) to fix this bug:
