Getting the GUID

Oct 14, 2011 at 8:23 PM

I have found a few references, not sure how to plug it in. I am already using  the GetListItems operation and want to call the List and View GUID.

I found this for the list guid:

var thisList = $().SPServices.SPListNameFromUrl();
Do you have one for the View guid?

Also how would it be added to code similar to this? Can it?

    operation: "GetListItems",
	webURL: wurl,
	async: false,
    listName: ln,
	CAMLQuery: q,
    CAMLViewFields: v,
    completefunc: function (xData, Status) {

             $(xData.responseXML).find("[nodeName='z:row']").each(function(i) {

As soon as you specify a CAMLQuery or any other parameter, you are effectively overriding the view. However, if you want to get the view's GUID, you should be able to do so using the Views Web Service and GetViewCollection.
