operation: "GetWeb" Errors

Jun 20, 2012 at 6:51 PM

I am calling this service from within the context of my teams web application but at times passing URL's from the mysite web application.

When I pass a mysite web app URL to this service call the completefunc Status is Error.

Can anyone know why this won't work?

It's probably an authenitication issue or something else to so with your topology. Check the call in Firebug to see what the actual issue is; it may give you more to go on.

Firebug reports an error.

<!--?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?-->soap:ServerServer was unable to process request. ---> Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode><faultstring>Server was unable to process request. ---> Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined.</faultstring><detail /></soap:Fault></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>

I don't believe this is a security issue as my account is good on both.

The call works fine as long as the URL is the same web app URL I am currently in.

It appears that the URL is not being passed to the function properly. In this case I am adding an arbitrary "url" attribute to my image tag and expecting that to be available. In FireFox for instance, the URL is UNDEFINED but IE seems to handle it properly. Does not quite explain why it works for URLs from within the same web app. The search continues :(....

Can you show the call you're making?
