SPAutocomplete - sourceColumn type is Calculated Column

Hello there,

The SPAutocomplete works great when sourceColumn type is "Text".
But I tried to use a Calculated Column (that returns text/string) as sourceColumn type
and even though I don't get the automplete dropdown I noticed that the XML response is correct, the only difference between the results is below:
  1. sourceColumn:"Title" (column type: text/string)
.....<z:row ows_Title="023044" .......</z:row>....
  1. sourceColumn:"Land" (column type: calculated column; returns text/string)
.....<z:row ows_Land="string;#France" ......</z:row>....
My desired result is "France", it is present in the XML response but not in the automplete dropdown. The "string;#" prefix may cause the problem...

Any workaround for this?

Thanks a lot in advance

I'd suggest that you switch to the jQueryUI .autocomplete(). It's far more full-featured and is why I stopped working on my version, which is fine for simple cases.

You can use still SPServices to feed the function data.

Ok, thank you!
Great job with SPServices!
