This fires the alerts:
<script type="text/javascript" src="/jQuery/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/jQuery/jquery.SPServices-2014.02.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">

alert ("js on.");
$(document).ready(function() {
alert ('jQuery on.');

});

</script>
This does not. As soon as i insert the SPDisplayRelatedInfo it stops firing the alerts (my way of testing to make sure it's all working).
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ecollab.ncr.int.ec.gc.ca/org/1275526/priv/jQuery/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ecollab.ncr.int.ec.gc.ca/org/1275526/priv/jQuery/jquery.SPServices-2014.02.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">

alert ("js on.");
$(document).ready(function() {
alert ('jQuery on.');

$().SPServices.SPDisplayRelatedInfo() {
    columnName: "Nemisis File No.",
    relatedList: "{5C881125-C30A-41D7-B62A-55B0EB42A609}",
    relatedListColumn: "Nemisis_x0020_File_x0020_No_x002",
    relatedColumns: ["Date","Date_x0020_Type"],
    displayFormat: "list",
    debug: true

    });

});

</script>
Anyone have any ideas??

You've got a rogue semi-colon.
    displayFormat: "list";

Aye, I just saw that and updated, but still the same thing. I updated my code above.

Hmm BTW, am I reading you correct that the "column Name" has to be a drop down? I'm not, i'm actually tring to use this as a parent-child display.

Still a rogue parenthesis on the first line below (fixed):
$().SPServices.SPDisplayRelatedInfo({
    columnName: "Nemisis File No.",
    relatedList: "{5C881125-C30A-41D7-B62A-55B0EB42A609}",
    relatedListColumn: "Nemisis_x0020_File_x0020_No_x002",
    relatedColumns: ["Date","Date_x0020_Type"],
    displayFormat: "list",
    debug: true
});

Ohhhh brother, what a bonehead I am! Sorry to bother you with such a rediculous issue, although much appreciated.

Alert firing ok now, although no related info is appearing anywhere on the page so I assume I have to employ a dropdown.

Hey, we all miss these things from time to time!

Yeah, I built it to work with dropdowns. You could always clone the function and make it work with a different column type. If you do, please share! What type of column is it?

Unfortunately, I am no where near adept enough at this to be cloning functions. Genes maybe.

Im just using a standard text field for this one. I actually added a dropdown lookup based on that sinlge text field within the same list, so there would be a text field with
theNemisis No. and now, right below a drop down looking up that field.
