How do you authenticate with this library?

Hi, I would like to use SPServices in a Windows Sidebar gadget, but I don't understand how to provide credentials to the SharePoint site. How can I specify the username/password? My SP site uses Windows authentication.

You do not need to specify authentication with the library, current user's credentials will be used; al-la Windows authentication.

While SPServices was never intended for the use you're proposing, I would be curious to see how you get on with this if you wouldn't mind posting back when you get to a point worth sharing.

How do I specify different credentials?

I will definitely post my results.

I don't believe you can specify different credentials, unless you add your own headers somehow; users will connect as themselves.

Mike's right. When you are using Windows authentication you can't pass new credentials to the Web Services. I think you will need to wrap your Web Services calls in your own code which changes the current user's credentials first. M.
