Update List Items Using SPUpdateMultipleListItems and Values from NewForm.aspx

Aug 30, 2011 at 8:39 PM

I was wondering if there is a way to capture the values upon submitting a NewForm.aspx in one list and then updating some list items in another list using the values captured from NewForm.aspx and SPUpdateMultipleListItems?

Forgot to mention. I am using SharePoint Standard Edition 2010.

The answer is undoubtedly "yes".

You could gather the values you need in the PreSaveAction on the NewForm and use SPUpdateMultipleListItems to update the existing items.

Thanks Marc!!! PreSaveAction is exactly what I need!!! I will post a code example once I get some time to play around with this idea.
