Customizing List Permissions.

Sep 21, 2011 at 6:12 PM

Hi, I am needing a way to have the create by of a list item to disignate an individual to have permission to edit their individual list item without compromising the list's permissions to restrict people to see only there own items.

I have a list called Requests, the creator is not always the "deliver to" in the request, and sets this in the item, but I need the "Deliver to" to close the request instead of going back to the created by and asking them to close it.

Can this be done? Can you suggest any good books/Sites on Site and List permissions in SP? I have to deal with unique security permission that are conditional so I need to become an expert with permissions.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm not sure that this is really an SPServices question. If you need to learn about SharePoint's permission model, there are a lot of good books available. I think generally, setting item level permissions is something that people use workflow to do.
