How to clear Autocomplete

Oct 5, 2011 at 11:58 PM

I am using the Autocomplete function to provide a list of suggested options for a search input textbox. The user does not have to select one of the autocomplete suggestions to submit their query, e.g. the user can search for part of a name if they don't know the exact person. After the results are returned however, the unused autocomplete options are still shown on the input box. The only way I can see to clear them is to manually clear all of the text from the input box. Is there an option to effectively "un-do" the autocomplete, or another way to escape out of it?

Usually if the user continues typing, then there's no longer a match, and there will be no values in the autocomplete. Is there some other behavior that you'd suggest?

Can you please let me know how you fixed it. I am also in the same situation as you were before.

I want to clear the input box when the user doesnt select anything from the drop down. Kindly let me know.
