Stores lookup value (number) instead of text

Mar 10, 2014 at 1:21 AM

I'm using jquery-1.10.2.min.js and jquery.SPServices-2014.01.min.js

On a new form, both drop-downs appear and refresh when I select a different parent.

When I save the form, instead of saving the child it seems to be storing the position the item is in the list.

Also, when I try and edit, it doesn't remember what I've selected (probably because it's a number).

I'm using SharePoint 2013 Foundation and this is the code that I've got instered in my NewForm.aspx and EditForm.aspx:

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://..../jquery-1.10.2.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://..../jquery.SPServices-2014.01.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $().SPServices.SPCascadeDropdowns({ relationshipList: "PrinterList", relationshipListParentColumn: "Office", relationshipListChildColumn: "Title", parentColumn: "Office", childColumn: "Printer", debug: true }); }); </script> Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

I don't see anything obvious. I'd suggest checking the columns in your relationshipList to make sure they contain what you intend. Is Office in the relationshipList a lookup for the same column as Office in the form?
