GetListItems doesn't work without Full Control

Dec 2, 2015 at 4:56 PM
I am using spscheduling.

https://spscheduling.codeplex.com/

It does not return any list items if you don't have a full access, I looked into it and it uses SPServices code to decide on weather to return items or not, not quite sure.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with the SPScheduling module you referred to but I am 100% certain that the GetListItems web service call for SharePoint does not require "Full Control." The user need only have "Read" permission on the target list for the call to be successful.

Incidentally, I just took a look at the SharePoint Scheduling Assistant home page on CodePlex and it claims to be reliant on SPServices v0.7.1a. That is an old version of SPServices.

@naimishpandya and I discussed this on Twitter (never a good place to resolve tech issues!). The issue he was having turned out to be permissions.

If SPServices v0.7.1a is still in play somewhere, I'd STRONGLY recommend an upgrade to 2014.02. (If someone reads this at a later date, I'd recommend the latest version. I'm always improving things.)
